DoroTree is family tree software for Jewish genealogists. The program is designed to accommodate Latin (English, French, etc.) and Hebrew in a side-by-side format. It is consistently simple and intuitive; you won’t find an easier program to use. This do-it-yourself software: straightforward, no frills, and effective. If you’re recording Jewish family history, this is the program to use. 

Feature Set:  

Adding a person is a simple process. Double click to add additional facts. You’ll see tabs for Address, Information (use for Events and Attributes), Lineage, Medical, Notes and Picture. You won’t see convenient lists to select from like other programs, but there are plenty of fields in every category to record your information and title it accurately. Every entry can be sourced with one click. And, you can rate each source on a scale from 0 to 10, indicating confidence level.

Basic functions are accessible along the menu bar. Search within your tree by Latin or Hebrew name. DoroTree provides links to Jewish ancestry sites in the Help menu for outside research.

Ease of Use:  

DoroTree is the easiest program to use. Every screen is designed exactly the same way. It is efficient and effective. Click to generate three types of charts with limited options. 

Reporting & Publishing:  

Standard Ancestor and Descendant charts can be printed easily from the Reports menu. DoroTree also offers a calendar and a wedding anniversary report to keep track of important family events. You can generate web pages, but cannot include photos. Export family files to an Excel file or directly to your Outlook Address book. 

Help/Documentation:  

The Help section for DoroTree is just as straightforward as the program. It is relevant and easy to access. You are guaranteed a quick start if you read the brief tutorial. Tech Support is available via email or by telephone, but be aware you are calling Israel. Download the User Manual and read the FAQs. You are sure to find the answers you need.
